Just to give you an idea of what we enjoy... some of our activities and hobbies:

Susan

Above all, Susan likes to stay active, walking (4 - 5 miles at a time), riding her bike (10 - 20 miles a day around a very hilly route) and working in the yard. In the past Susan has earned a Black Belt in karate, got very good at Ballroom Dancing (before deciding it was causing problams with a knee). Additional exercise includes Pilaties and workouts at the gym. Some hobbies include gardening, cooking (including making/baking all our own bread), enjoying food/wine, and traveling. When we vacation, she enjoys sailing (small boats, like Hobie Cats), windsurfing, and snorkling as well as the normal exploring and sightseeing.

Mike

I also enjoy being active, both walking and biking. I try to get to the gym for a good workout with weights 2 - 3 times a week, although I've had to cut back some due to a bad shoulder and resulting joint replacement. Tending to our garden and berry bushes keeps me busy around the house. As of an extension of the garden work, I have been making "Hammock's Flaming Gator Pepper Sauce", which is a very hot/spicy combination of various hot peppers, such as Jalapano, Habanaro, and Cayanne. In the mid 2000's I took up the additional activity of High performance driving which is described further on the High Peformance driving page. I've recently gotten more involved in the local chapter of the BMW Car Club of America by planning and leading group drives. Like Susan, when on vacation I enjoy sailing, windsurfing and snorkeling. Actually, since we both grew up in Florida, we both like almost any kind of water sports/activity. On most trips, I end up taking lots of photos and writing trip reports describing the trips (see topic in left panel).
